Member of the Augusta WID Chapter, Gabrielle Watson is an accomplished Information Technologies (IT) Specialist at Army Cyber. Gabrielle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), graduating Cum Laude in 2021. She will attend Georgia Tech in the fall, pursuing a Master of Science degree in Analytics. At Georgia Tech, Gabrielle plans to continue her research in deepfakes, a research interest sparked at UMBC and highlighted by a deepfake survey paper publication. Her certifications and awards include CompTIA Security+ and CySA+ certifications, and a Civilian Service Achievement Medal.
Since 1988, Women In Defense has awarded over $1,000,000 to 209 deserving recipients pursuing education toward a career in national security.
Avery's brother, Landyn, threw out the first pitch for the GreenJackets, and the Gray Family celebrated with the Augusta WID Chapter as guests at SRP Park, accepting the scholarship in her honor.
Chapter President Laurin Groover, and Vice President, Kathleen Ferguson, represented our Chapter at the November 2021 NDIA and WID Leadership Conference. The conference brought together volunteers and leaders for interaction, learning, and networking.
